Journey Beyond the Known with Dr. Kamyar Hedayat
There are guides who can tell you what happened in a place. Dr. Kamyar Hedayat invites you to consider what the place may be awakening within you.

A Stanford-trained physician, international educator, author, researcher, and authority in Endobiogeny, Dr. Hedayat has devoted his life to understanding the hidden patterns that connect the human body, the natural world, consciousness, and our capacity for transformation.

His path began in pediatric critical care—one of medicine’s most scientifically demanding and high-stakes specialties. Working with critically ill children required him to see beyond isolated symptoms and understand how many systems of the body communicate, compensate, and respond as a single living whole.

Yet the deeper he traveled into modern medicine, the more profound his questions became.

What organizes the body’s extraordinary intelligence? Why do two people respond differently to the same illness, environment, or experience? How do emotion, belief, stress, memory, plants, and place affect the human system? What did the world’s ancient healing traditions understand that modern medicine may have forgotten?

Those questions eventually led Dr. Hedayat to Paris, where he studied under Dr. Jean-Claude Lapraz, one of the principal developers of Endobiogeny. This sophisticated approach examines the human being as an interconnected living terrain governed by dynamic relationships among the endocrine system, nervous system, immune function, metabolism, environment, and individual experience.

Dr. Hedayat became one of the world’s leading practitioners and teachers of Endobiogeny. He cofounded the American Society of Endobiogenic Medicine and Integrative Physiology, helped develop international training programs for medical professionals, and coauthored the definitive four-volume scientific work, The Theory of Endobiogeny.

His work stands at an unusual crossroads: scientifically rigorous yet deeply humanistic, analytical yet intuitive, modern yet informed by centuries of accumulated wisdom.

The Forgotten Intelligence of Plants
Central to Dr. Hedayat’s work is an extensive knowledge of medicinal plants and clinical phytotherapy.
He does not view an herb as simply a substance used to suppress a symptom. He considers its character, actions, affinities, and relationship to the complete individual. His published medical works explore dozens of medicinal plants and the ways they may interact with the body’s larger regulatory systems.

In Glastonbury, this knowledge takes on an entirely new dimension.

Walking through sacred gardens and ancient landscapes with Dr. Hedayat, plants are no longer merely scenery. They become living participants in the story. Hawthorn, yew, mugwort, rosemary, vervain, elder, and other plants can be explored through multiple lenses: botanical, physiological, historical, symbolic, folkloric, and spiritual.

Guests will discover why certain plants became associated with protection, healing, dreaming, thresholds, initiation, and the unseen world—and why those associations have survived across centuries.
A Student of the Seen and Unseen
Dr. Hedayat’s studies have also extended beyond the conventional boundaries of medicine into philosophy, consciousness, symbolism, spiritual traditions, and teachings commonly associated with the ancient Mystery Schools.

For him, mystery is not the opposite of science. Mystery is where genuine inquiry begins.

The Mystery Schools did not simply provide information. They used story, symbol, nature, sacred architecture, ritual, observation, and direct experience to change the way a person perceived reality. Their central questions remain as powerful today as they were in the ancient world:

Who are we beneath our conditioning?
What is the relationship between consciousness and nature?
Why have certain places been considered sacred?
What knowledge is communicated through symbol rather than language?
And what becomes visible when we learn how to see?

Dr. Hedayat brings this spirit of inquiry to Glastonbury without asking guests to abandon discernment or accept any particular belief. He creates a space in which science, mythology, physiology, folklore, intuition, and personal experience may be placed in conversation with one another.
Why Travelling with Dr H. is Extraordinary
Glastonbury can be visited as a historic English town. It can also be encountered as Avalon: a landscape of holy wells, medicinal gardens, ruined abbeys, Arthurian mysteries, fairy traditions, dragon lore, sacred geometry, and stories of passage between worlds.

With Dr. Hedayat, guests experience both.

At Chalice Well, he can help illuminate the connections among water, ritual, the nervous system, and humanity’s ancient search for healing.

In an herb garden, he can reveal the relationship between traditional plant lore and the complex regulatory intelligence of the body.

Among the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, he can explore how history, belief, symbol, and collective memory shape our experience of a place.

On Glastonbury Tor, he can invite guests to consider why hills, caves, springs, and thresholds have served as places of pilgrimage and initiation across cultures.

And while exploring legends of dragons, fairies, magicians, and Avalon, he can help the group look beneath the stories for the deeper truths they may carry about consciousness, transformation, guardianship, power, and the human relationship with the living world.

This is what makes the journey unlike any conventional tour.

Dr. Hedayat will not simply show you Glastonbury. He will help you experience it through the eyes of a physician, scientist, herbalist, philosopher, teacher, and explorer of the unknown.
